Netflix and Chill

The title of this post may have different connotations depending on your age and lifestyle. For me it means hanging out in my p-jays with my dog watching documentaries about a range of topics.

Tonight's topic: design and illustration. A Netflix series called Abstract: The Art of Design follows and records artists from all mediums: print, automotive, engineering, etc.

I was particularly interested in episodes 1 and 6. The way the artists use their environment as muses and not only see their work as a product but as a lifestyle. Of course this made me question, how can I use art to create a sense of learning lifestyle? I want to make my learners and clients come back for more because I have created an online learning experience like no other.

In my ID journey, I found I work best when my inspiration comes from unrelated sources: gardens, museums, books, or even a Sunday church service that speaks to my soul. My work life and personal life meet in this grey area, but in order for the grey area to exist I need to fulfill my personal needs and desires first.

Moral of the story - inspiration comes from exploration.
