No Ragrets... not even one letter

This post on Reddit is giving me so much life right now.

This past year was the first year I haven't been in a classroom since 2010...

Do I regret it? Not in a million years

Do I miss my babes? Absolutely! I had a professor in undergrad that always said kids are smarter than adults, and I completely agree :) The stories I have about my students are exponentially better than stories I have about my coworkers.

My professional identity is changing and evolving and I'm loving it.

    Good luck on your evolving career!!! I know that feeling of teaching, I tear up a bit when the semester ends cause I don't get to see the undergrads that laughed at all my horrible dad jokes during class anymore :'(.

Have you ever just been so overwhelmed with stuff? Like it's literally everywhere and won't stop piling up? That's how I initially felt when I entered my first Twitter chat today. I was just there to observe and see how it works but my goodness!! I felt like I needed to have my phone updating the feed, then have two or three desktop windows open to click on other hashtags, look at profiles, post, and another window to find GIFS because apparently that's a thing on Twitter chats... who knew? But with all things in life, I just went with the flow. The time has come the walrus said... to dive into the world of Web 2.0, collaboration, social media, and social networking. From now until August, my sources of inspiration will focus on what I'm learning in my Instructional Systems and Learning Technology class at Florida State University- EME6414: Web 2.0-based Learning and Performance. Pinterest for the Win!

The funny thing about words is that they evoke emotion from the second they leave the lips and can make you feel a range of emotions. What do you feel when I say curate? I think of museums, art collections, and unique pieces that come together to tell a story. What do you feel what I say Pinterest? I think of fitness boards, receipts, and crafting. But what if I said you could use Pinterest to curate content? HUH? That's what I thought.  Content Marking Institute  has a great blog about using Pinterest to curate information.  While I'm not a marketer, I could see using boards to curate, or pull information in, for academic purposes. K-12 or higher ed classes could use it to house readings or videos related to the goals of the year or semester.
